Dear Teacher

For many people around the world Easter is a very important time. We have two podcasts for that: Holy week is a level 2 podcast and video about the last week of Jesus' life. We also have The Easter egg, a level 1 podcast about why these chocolate treats are eaten at Easter.

We have added yet another of our pie videos this week (making a total of 104!) for the beginners level. This time we ask Richard about his hobbies. Do you have a hobby? helps students to talk about what they do in their free time.

We have updated the Podcasts of the month which includes a podcast about Street life for level 2 where we wonder what is happening outside our houses, and The dig for level 3. There is so much history to be found underground!

Plus, of course we have Podcasts for April. Listen to The patron saints a level 1 podcast about David, Patrick, Andrew and George (Saint George's Day is 23 April). The 23rd is also English Language Day so listen to Double act and Ana Luisa's story. There are lots more, so as always keep an eye on the sidebar for the levels for all our highlighted podcasts.

With over 700 podcasts and 100 pie videos there are so many things to listen to and watch! We hope you enjoy them all.

Remember that while most podcasts are free podcasts 1 - 99 are for members only. Each podcast has essential transcripts, worksheets and extra materials for teachers and learners and with over 2000 to choose from, so Join pie now!

If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Tomas from the Czech Republic was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that the answer was c) names of trees.

For this month's quiz just answer this question: What is the first surprising work animal Jackie talks about? Is it a) dolphins, b) rats, or c) sheep? The answer is in this level 1 podcast and video: Working animals

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes

Richard and Jackie
