Dear Teacher

It's meant to be summer and yet we have a week of rain forecast... but no doubt next month we will be complaining again it's too hot!

We have new Podcasts of the Month. For level 1 we have Spanish seaside rules, planning a trip to Spain this summer? Listen to this podcast first! For level 2 we have Take the train not the plane. Planning a flight this summer? Listen to this podcast first! For level 3 we have Pick a pocket or two. Planning a holiday for the summer? Listen to this podcast first!

We also have lots of podcasts for the special days this month. Podcasts for June include World Music Day, International Day of Yoga and the Summer Solstice!! Full details of these, and others, are all in the sidebar on the levels pages. You need to have a look!

We start this month talking about learning new skills as an adult. Are you learning English at school, university or perhaps for a job? Is it easier for younger students? Adult learning is a level 1 podcast. And as always the podcast has lots of worksheets.

For our second podcast we talk about flags and shapes. Can you identify them? Listen to What shape is that? It's for level 0.

If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Zahir from Morocco was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that the beehive faces a) east, for the morning sun.

For this month just answer this question: Why did we go to Merida? Was it for a) the food and wine, b) the walking and countryside or c) the bird watching and Roman monuments? The answer is in this level 1 video: The trip.

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes
