Monthly news from podcastsinenglish.com and Competition Time!
Dear Teacher
Easter is over and summer is just around the corner. What everyone in Britain is waiting for, however, is The coronation of Charles III next month. To make sure you are all prepared we have a new podcast for level 1 which compares his coronation with that of Elizabeth back in 1953.
We also have plenty of other podcasts for April including Turn the page and A good book (pie vid) for World Book Day on 23 April, and Let's twist again... for International Dance Day on 29 April. Of course there are plenty more, so have a look on the sidebar of the website.
And we have updated the podcasts of the month: for the beginner's level we talk about the colourful things growing in the garden in Fruit'n'veg (pie vid), for level 1 we have Two great British meals, a breakfast and a lunch; can you guess what those are? For level 2, we talk about what's happening outside in Street life and for level 3 we go underground to talk about The dig. There is so much history under our feet!
Remember that while most podcasts are free, podcasts 1 - 99 are for members only. Each podcast has essential transcripts, worksheets and extra materials for teachers and learners and with over 2000 to choose from, Join pie now!
If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Anna, from Poland, was the lucky winner of last month's competition. For this month just answer this question:
How does Richard describe the Taj Mahal? Is it a) just stunning b) really beautiful or c) absolutely amazing? The answer is in this level 2 podcast / video: The Taj Mahal.
Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.
Best wishes
Richard and Jackie
