Dear Learner

Recent news has been dominated by the death of Queen Elizabeth II. For our English learners and teachers we have a number of podcasts about the Royal Family including, The Royal Family, The little prince and Farewell Philip. Watch out for another podcast on the Queen later this month.

Did you have a good holiday? For our Podcasts of the month we remember a nice holiday we had a few years ago, and the worksheets help you to talk about your trip too. Nice holiday? is for level 1. For level 2 we talk about different ways of eating food, do you use a Knife, fork and spoon or something else?

For level 3 Jackie notices the difference between the UK now and when she was last there, 10 years ago, in Then and now. Plus Sue talks about why she called the fire brigade in Dial 999.

The 'Big Four' fashion weeks are New York, Milan, Paris... and London! London Fashion Week is 16 - 20 September this year. We have five podcasts about clothes or fashion for that but our favourite is A regency gentleman. Watch the video and find out what's so fascinating about Zack. The other podcasts can all be found in the sidebar of the level pages so go and have a look!

We start the month with one of our new beginner podcasts, which comes with a video as well. This time we talk about our new house: Feel at home. Watch the video, or listen to the podcast, and tell us about where you live.

If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Hans, from Germany, was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that that Peter saw the fire b) in the afternoon. For this month just answer this question:

What does Richard have for breakfast? Is it a) toast and marmalade, b) toast and margarine or c) toast and jam? The answer is in this beginner level video: Good morning!

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes

Richard and Jackie
