Dear Learner

It's raining. However, we are quite happy about that as the winter has been so dry.

March means spring, of course, and therefore our favourite flowers The wild orchids are beginning to appear. Watch the video that also goes with the level 1 podcast and see how beautiful they are. This is one of our podcasts of the month, there are others including Catching up a level 2 podcast: Sue tells Jackie all her latest news.

And we have Podcasts for March - there are many! These include Poetry: powerful or pointless? a level 3 podcast for World Poetry Day on March 21 and The Emerald isle a two-parter about Ireland for St Patrick's Day, March 17. More will be appearing throughout the month so keep a lookout on the sidebar for the levels.

St Patrick's Day brings us to our first podcast for March. We talk about not only Patrick but also David, George and Andrew in The patron saints Listen and find out about these people; we also have an extra worksheet about St Christopher too.

Remember we have started a new level for beginners. Do please give us some suggestions for podcasts we can do, we'd love to hear your ideas.

If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Serhan, from Turkey, was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that there are c) 19 videos on our Travelogues page. Have you watched them all yet?! For this month just answer this question:

How many different kinds of orchids do we see near us? Are there a) 17, b) 18, or c) 19? The answer is in this video: Wild orchids.

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes

Richard and Jackie
