Monthly news from podcastsinenglish.com Dear Teacher We do hope that you had some kind of holiday this year. For our Podcasts of the month we remember a nice holiday we had a few years ago, and the worksheets help you to talk about your trip too. Nice holiday? is for level 1. For level 2 we talk about different ways of eating food, do you use a Knife, fork and spoon or something else? For level 3 Jackie notices the difference between the UK now and when she was last there, 10 years ago, in Then and now. Plus Sue talks about why she called the fire brigade in Dial 999. September sees a return of London Fashion Week. We have four podcasts about clothes or fashion for that but our favourite is A regency gentleman. Watch the video and find out what's so fascinating about Zack. The other podcasts can all be found in the sidebar of the level pages so go and have a look! We start the month with a problem, and a great solution. What a waste! looks at how much food is thrown away each year, but details a great way to prevent that. We really recommend all those who buy food (that's everyone, isn't it?!) or sell it, to check out the information. Our second podcast this month looks at the reason behind the names of two everyday things, a fruit and a drink: Orange tea. Find out what makes their names so interesting and learn a little history along the way! This is for level 2. If you are not already a member, then every month one lucky winner to our competition gets free pie membership for 3 months. Miguel, from Spain, was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that that b) Richard loved making sandcastles when he was little. For this month just answer this question: How does Jackie describe England? Is it a) green and pleasant, b) noisy and crowded or c) expensive? The answer is in this level 2 podcast: Then and now. Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month. Best wishes Richard and Jackie The pie team |
