Dear Learner

We have a soft spot for October. There's something about autumn leaves, misty mornings and bonfires that we like. We have a level 1 podcast about The fall listen and find out what else we like about the cold but colourful season.

This is one of our Podcasts of the month. For level 2 we talk about collecting Mushrooms and how we take care when picking our favourite free food. And for level 3 Jemma talks about how she can see clearly now in 20/20 vision.

October has loads of special days! Far too many to mention here but check out the sidebar on the levels pages to see them.

Meanwhile our latest podcast is about the possibility of working anywhere in the world if all you need is a laptop and the Internet to do your job. Intrigued? Listen to Digital nomads and see how it can be done. As always we hope our business podcasts are of interest to our regular listeners too!

We have one of our pie videos this month - that's our 80th! This time you can follow us on The trip we took recently in the car. Where did we go? What did we see? Watch / listen and find out! This is for level 1.

Note that while most podcasts are free, podcasts 1 - 75 are for members only. Why not make 2020 your year to learn English and join pie!

There are not only podcasts and worksheets but we also have loads of extra materials for learners including top listening tips to help you with real conversations and helping you recognise the key features of spoken English. And there's more! All on the Pie plus page.
Also, why not enter our monthly competition? It's open to teachers and learners and the winner gets 3 months free pie membership! Just answer this question:

How does Jackie describe the autumn? Is it a) the coldest season, b) the prettiest season, or c) the most romantic season? The answer is in this level 1 podcast: The fall.

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

All the very best.
