Dear Teacher

What a difference a month makes. The world seems to have turned upside down and everything is different. One thing that has changed is the way people eat - no more going to restaurants! So for our first podcast this month we talk about where we eat at home in Take a seat. Are you sitting and eating on the sofa more often now?! This podcast is for level 1.

Some nice things are not changing: Spring is here and that means baby animals are appearing in the countryside. We talk about these in New arrivals. This is one of our podcasts of the month. We also have Spring is in the air where we talk about the prettiest season of the year. Both of these are for level 1. For level 2 we have one of our pie videos: Say cheese! Watch and see how to make cheese; and for level 3 we are forgetting about the virus and heading to Italy. Sue talks about why she loves visiting the country in Forza Italia.

April has lots of special days too. We have loads of podcasts on Easter but plenty of others too. There is Turn the page for level 1 (World Book Day is 23 April), Good boy! for level 2 (International Guide Dog Day is 24 April) and Let's twist again... for level 2 (International Dance Day is 29 April). There are others and more will be added later in the month; do have a look!

Note that while most podcasts are free, podcasts 1 - 75 are for members only. Why not make 2020 your year to learn English and join pie!

There are not only podcasts and worksheets but we also have loads of extra materials for teachers including top tips to help students listen to real conversations and helping them to recognise the key natural features of spoken English. And there's more! All on the Pie plus page.

Or, why not enter our monthly competition? The winner gets 3 months free pie membership! Just answer this question:

For this month's quiz just answer this question: Does Richard have a) a blocked nose, b) a runny nose or c) a red nose? You can find the answer in this level 2 podcast: Under the weather.

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

All the very best.
