Monthly news from podcastsinenglish.com Dear Teacher Along with the podcasts of the month (see right) we have podcasts to go with the special days of May. These include: International Day of Families on the 15th, International Museum Day on 18th and No smoking day on 31st. Check out the sidebar on the pages for level 1, 2 or 3 for links. We start the month with some good news really. It's been over a decade since the No smoking ban in the UK. We talk about the effects this has had on smokers (No smoking day is 31 May). Last month we made a podcast called Liverpool the city for level 1. Listen again now that Liverpool are in the final of the Champions League! Plus they are up against Real Madrid so listen to that podcast when the two teams last played each other. Almost 500 podcasts on pie! That is a lot of podcasts! Remember, you can use Search pie to find something, or have a look at our lists of podcasts. These are in three levels and give a description of the topic of each podcast. They also show which ones have a video, or a song. These are especially useful for busy teachers who want to find a podcast that goes with the topic in a coursebook. Competition time Taticia, who comes from Brazil, won last month's competition. She correctly said the answer was the answer was c): Buster Keaton. Now another listener can win free pie membership by answering this question: When Real Madrid played Liverpool what did Al say the score would be? Was it a) 5 - 1, b) 3 - 2 or c) 2 - 0? The answer is in this level 2 podcast Real Madrid. Reply to this email with the answer, including your name and where you are from. One winner gets free pie membership for 3 months. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month. All the very best for teaching English in 2018! Richard and Jackie The pie team |
