Dear Teacher

Despite the rain we are happy that it's April and that Spring is in the air. This is one of our 'podcasts of the month' and it's for level 1. For level 2 Jackie learns a lot about cheese making in Say cheese! which also has one of our many pie vids. And for level 3 Sue tells us why she loves visiting Italy in Forza Italia!

There are lots of special days this month and we have many podcasts to go with them. These include World Book Day, International Guide Dog Day and International Dance Day. Check out the sidebar for links.

Meanwhile we start the month with a podcast (and yet another pie video!) about two craft courses that Jackie went on recently. Listen to Being crafty and find out what those were. This is for level 2. Do you have any craft hobbies?

Many of you will know that Richard is a big Liverpool supporter so he is very happy they are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League! But is Liverpool the city only about football? Listen to our level 1 podcast and find out what we think.

Almost 500 podcasts on pie! That is a lot of podcasts! Remember, you can use Search pie to find something, or have a look at our lists of podcasts. These are in three levels and give a description of the topic of each podcast. They also show which ones have a video, or a song. These are especially useful for busy teachers who want to find a podcast that goes with the topic a coursebook.

Also included is a list of podcasts that go with special events or days. Again very useful for teachers. Want to know if there is a podcast for International Dance Day on 29 April? Have a look, yes - we have two!

Remember to write to us if you have any ideas or suggestions for podcasts, we love hearing from our listeners. All the very best for learning or teaching English in 2018!

Competition time

Daniele, who comes from Italy, won last month's competition. He correctly said the answer was b): they have friendly neighbours (of course!). Now another listener can win free pie membership by answering this question:

Who is Jackie's favourite silent comedian? Is the answer a) Charlie Chaplin, b) Stan Laurel or c) Buster Keaton? The answer is in this level 2 podcast That's funny. Send your answer to thepieteam@PROTECTED with your name and where you are from. One winner gets free pie membership for 3 months. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

All the very best for teaching English in 2018!
