Dear Learner
Lots of changes on the site this month! We are now totally secure. You may well have noticed that in the address bar of your web browser there is a green padlock which shows that all our communications over the internet are now encrypted. Safer for us and for you. However, lots of our emails are getting blocked by your ISP, so remember to put betty@podcastsinenglish.com into your address book. This will ensure you get our monthly newsletter.
If you are not already a member, we are now able to accept credit and debit card payments rather than just relying on paypal. Go to our new registration page and join today! We've also updated our extras page. The list seems to go on and on so we now have an additional page just for Business extras. But that's not all, we are also working on a new system which will enable our members to choose their own login details. Watch this space for more on that.
Of course, the podcasts come thick and fast as usual. Our first of the month is about something we use every day: cutlery. Or perhaps you don't? Listen to Knife, fork and spoon and hear about some surprising eating habits.
Our second podcast this month is also connected to food: World Food Day is in October. The FAO have some actions that you can do to fight climate change. Listen to Feed the world and see what the pie team have chosen to do.
Meanwhile we have, of course, 3 more podcasts of the month. For level 1 we talk about The fall or autumn as we say. It may be getting cold but it's also very colourful! For level 2 we talk about one of our favourite hobbies for this time of the year: collecting Mushrooms. Do you go foraging for free food in the forest too? And for level 3 listen to Jo talking about her love of high-street brands in Is that a Mango t-shirt?
We also have chosen 4 podcasts about studying, check out the sidebar on our website for those too.
As always we love hearing from our listeners, especially if you have some suggestions about topics we can cover for our podcasts. So write in with your ideas!
Here's to a successful time learning English.
Best wishes
Jackie and Richard
