Dear Teacher

Well, that's two winter months gone, just one to go. Despite the gloomy weather and world situation there are a few things to look forward to, and lucky for us they both involve food!

First up is Chinese New Year which means cooking some great Chinese meals. We have two videos from Chef Ken Hom to help us: Hot wok is for level 1. We also have Chinese New Year where we talk about China Town. Plus, from a long time ago, Jackie talks about why she's happy to be a pig in Oink Oink! Which Chinese animal are you? These are all for level 2 too.

Secondly, Shrove Tuesday is on 16 February which means for us making some delicious pancakes. Watch our video Pancake Day and you can make some too! You'll find all these, plus our Podcasts of the Month in the levels sidebar.

Meanwhile we start February with a trip back to our childhood. We remember and talk about a couple of books we loved reading when we were young. Listen to Children's stories to find out which were our favourites, and why.

We also have a podcast about Passwords: are you always forgetting yours? Need some help?1 Listen to our podcast and then take action!

Look out for more podcasts this month: something else to look forward to!

Meanwhile our series of podcasts for lockdown are also in the levels sidebar including Facebook fun. We hope they make the situation a bit better.

Every month one lucky winner gets free pie membership for 3 months. Just answer this question:

The UEFA European Championship, Euro 2020, was cancelled last year. Who did Richard think might win? Was it a) Portugal, b) Germany or c) England? The answer is in this level 1 podcast 2020: the future?

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes

Richard and Jackie
