Dear Teacher

Well, it's the New Year at last but we're not entirely sure it's happy yet. The UK is now in its third Lockdown and so we start 2021 with a podcast about that, and the restrictions in force to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Our second podcast is another in our life before the Internet. This time we talk about Buying records - actually going to the shops, buying music and taking it home to listen to! Do we think it's easier and better now than in the past?

We have updated the Podcasts of the month sidebar (found on the level pages). These include 2020: the future when Richard made predictions about last year, how many did he get right??! This is for level 1. We have two pie videos: for level 2 Maureen talks to Richard about her holiday home Carob cottage. For level 3 we have a video about our ski trip On the piste. There are more so do check out the sidebar for those.

We have also added other podcasts linked to lockdown which include how to make the most of your time and how to avoid stress. For example Hobbies at home is for level 2 but again check the sidebar for more.

The theme of this month's first podcast was suggested to us by a member. Please do send us your ideas for what we can chat about, we'd love to hear from you especially as we are getting on for 600 podcasts!

Every month one lucky winner gets free pie membership for 3 months. Just answer this question:

Why was the Christmas display in our local village cancelled? Was it because of a) Covid-19, b) the rain or c) there was no electricity? The answer is in this level 2 podcast Happy holidays?

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes

Richard and Jackie
