Dear Teacher
In many ways November is one of our favourite months. The countryside is turning into beautiful autumn colours and it's perfect weather for walking. Also it's exciting having the wood burning fire on for the first time as temperatures drop at night.
We start the month talking to Jemma who tells us about an ever popular event in the UK, and around the world. Listen to Parkrun, what's that? and find the answer. This podcast is for level 3.
The US election has dominated the news for many months and you may be as sick of it as we are! However, we do have a video (and podcast) featuring some of Trump's speeches. So love him or loathe him listen to the Trump card which is for level 2. Celebrated by everyone in the US, however, is Thanksgiving, which is always on the fourth Thursday of the month.
In addition to our podcasts of the month we have three special podcasts about TV. For level 1 we talk about some of our favourite and not so favourite TV programmes in Quiz show. The UN says that 21 November is World TV Day - but Claire says every day is TV day in Watching the box. This is for level 2. And for level 3 the pie team talk about their experience of being on a TV show in A place in the sun.
As always we love hearing from our listeners, especially if you have some suggestions about topics we can cover for our podcasts. So write in with your ideas!
Here's to a successful time teaching English.
Best wishes
Jackie and Richard
