Dear Learner
We have to admit that we have been glued to the television! First of all the Euros (shame about the final) but also we have been watching the Tour de France, it's been a great race so far. Remember we have a podcast for this: The yellow jersey which is for level 3.
The Olympics in Paris starts later this month and I'm sure we'll be watching that as well! We also have a podcast about the French capital for one of our podcasts of the month: Paris in the summer is a level 2 podcast. All of these podcasts are in the sidebar of the levels pages, including Summer jobs a level 1 podcast where we talk about the part time work we had as students. Have a look for lots more.
Our latest podcast is about noise. It's called What a racket! and it's for level 2. We talk about how the idea that the countryside is peaceful and quiet is very far from the truth. Listen and find out what's making all the noise!
On a similar theme we have a podcast for level 3 about sound: Did you hear that? We talk about the amazing effect some sounds have on us.
Remember that while most podcasts are free, podcasts 1 - 99 are for members only. Each podcast has essential transcripts, worksheets and extra materials for teachers and learners and with over 2000 to choose from, Join pie now!
If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Maria from Ukraine was the lucky winner of last month's competition. She correctly said that the answer was b) we eat our meals at the table.
For this month's quiz just answer this question: What does Jackie say antiques are? Are they a) old stuff, b) expensive things, or c) boring stuff? The answer is in this level 1 podcast: Cash in the attic
Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.
Best wishes
Richard and Jackie
