Dear Learner

April is here so that means listening out for the nightingales, which usually arrive the first week, and having the first of the asparagus. We grow it in our garden and it tastes delicious!

Talking of vegetables we have put up another podcast/video for our new beginners level. This time we talk about all the colourful Fruit'n'veg we grow. What is your favourite? Do let us know if you have any topics you would like us to talk about for this level.

Easter is here soon. We have a number of podcasts for that: The Easter egg , for level 1, and Holy week for level 2. This is one of our pie videos and is the story of Jesus' last days.

Of course we have updated our Podcasts of the month and there are plenty for this month. These include New arrivals which is a level 1 podcast about the baby animals appearing in the countryside this spring and Say cheese! which is a pie video about making cheese.

The day of Human Space Flight is 12 April, listen to The Eagle has landed where we recall the amazing Apollo 11 mission. There are other Podcasts for April too so again check out the sidebars on the levels pages. There's lots to keep you busy!

If you are not already a member, one lucky winner in our monthly competition gets free pie membership! Ebru, from Turkey, was the lucky winner of last month's competition. He correctly said that there are b) 18 different kinds of orchids near us. For this month just answer this question:

How many litres of milk did Helena get for her cheese in the morning? Was it a) 3, b) 4, or c) 5? The answer is in this video: Say cheese!

Write your answer on our Contact us page. Remember to tell us your name and where you are from. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

Best wishes
