Dear Learner

Whether you like it or not this month will be dominated by a certain sporting spectacular! Luckily we have four podcasts for you including The World Cup which looks at one of the most coveted trophies in sport. Check out the sidebars on the website for more.

In addition to the football we have more podcasts that go with special days in June. There are two, for example, for World Refugee Day and three for World Music Day on the 21st. Again check out the sidebar on the pages for levels 1,2,3 for links to these podcasts.

Meanwhile, our first podcast for the month is for the business level. Regular listeners will know that both Jackie and Richard are keen on making things. We have podcasts on soap making, carpentry, and cheese making etc. Richard is also keen on making his own beer so we were very interested to learn that in the business world the artisan economy was doing very well indeed.

This is our 499th podcast - next one is 500! If you like our site, and enjoy the podcasts, please like us on Facebook, it really helps to spread the word.

Competition time
Azzurra, who comes from Italy, won last month's competition. She correctly said the answer was a) 5 - 1. Now another listener can win free pie membership by answering this question:

Where did Jackie and Richard meet? Was it a) Ho Chi Minh City, b) Hoi An or c) Ha Noi? The answer is in this level 1 podcast and video: Stop me and buy one. Reply to this email with the answer or let us know on the Contact us page. Don't forget to include your name and where you are from. One winner gets free pie membership for 3 months. Good luck! Answers by the end of the month.

All the very best for learning English in 2018!
