Dear Learner
With warmer, longer days we definitely have a spring in our steps. One of the reasons we like spring is because we are so lucky to have Wild orchids growing near us.
Meanwhile we start the month with one of our business podcasts. We already have one about automation, this one looks at which jobs may be affected. Listen to The rise of the machine 2 and see if your job is at risk.
The biggest event for us this month is Easter and of course we have plenty of podcasts including The Easter egg and Holy week.
May also has many special international 'Days'. 18 April is International Day for Monuments, so we have The Taj Mahal. 23 April is English Language Day, World Book Day and it also marks the birth and death of Shakespeare so we have To be or not to be, A good book and Turn the page. We have Good boy! for International Guide Dog Day on 26 April and for International Dance Day on 29 April we have Let's twist again. Lastly, at the beginning of May, on the 5th, we have International Midwives' Day and Call the midwife.
As always do write to us if you have any suggestions for the site, or if there are any topics you would like to listen to, we love hearing from our listeners!
Here's to a successful 2017 learning English.
Best wishes
Jackie and Richard
